Ir. Carl Verhamme holds a 1982 civil electrotechnical engineer's degree (Burgerlijk elektrotechnisch ingenieur) (Ir.)  and a 1983 degree of engeneer in automating processes (Ingenieur in de Automatisering) from the University of Gent, as well as an MBA from the University of Leuven/Chicago 1990

During his career he has held various management positions in design, production, logistics, purchasing and IT  for companies as Bekaert, GB-Inno-BM and Alcatel. With Bekaert he was appointed Director Bekaert Engineering USA residing in Chicago. In the nineties he worked as a Change Manager with GB restructuring the company to a higher degree of profitability. He also held the function of Vice President Purchasing, Logistics and IT of Alcatel.

His main interest lies in the optimization of productflows in complex production and service organisations; balancing capacity, inventory and cycle time. He focusses on the development of stochastic planning and scheduling systems in order to achieve for companies the highest possible level of operational excellence.
